The aim of this study was to find out the degree of the organizational allegiance and job satisfaction of the Basic Education Cycle Two school principals in Oman. It also aimed at identifying the correlation between the organizational allegiance and job satisfaction from the principals' points of view. Data were collected through two questionnaires. The first was developed to measure the organizational allegiance. It included three dimensions with 29 statements. The dimensions were the emotional allegiance, the moral allegiance and the continuous allegiance. The second questionnaire was developed to measure job satisfaction. It contained four dimensions and 37 statements. The dimensions were rewards, administrative supervision, job nature and job stability. The questionnaires' reliability (Alpha=0.92) and validity were maintained. Then they were administered to 114 Basic Education Cycle Two school principals, representing three regions in Oman: Dakhiliya, Dhahira and Sharqiya North. For the analysis, six questionnaires were excluded because they were incomplete and other eight questionnaires were not returned. Therefore, 100 questionnaires were analyzed. This number represents 27% of the study population, which is 369. The SPSS programme was used to calculate the means, standard deviation and relative importance of all statements. The findings reveal the following: o The degree of the basic education school principals' organizational allegiance was high. o The degree of their job satisfaction is average. o There is a positive and average correlation between the principals' organizational allegiance and job satisfaction. The study shows the following recommendations: o It is important to reconsider the principals' salary grades and promotions, and to increase them to the extent that they become parallel to the other government establishments' employees' salaries who occupy the same job grade. This is to reduce the number of school principals who are leaving for a better salary and position. o It is also important to consider the principals' suggestions, opinions and attitudes when planning and setting policies, rules and organizing boards.
