English abstract
The study aimed to identify the degree of competencies for teachers of mathematics for the sixth grade and the obstacles to teaching from the point of view of teachers in South AL Batinah Governate and know the teaching skills possessed by teachers in planning the lesson according to the study social gander ,number of years of experience and identification of obstacles when teaching mathematics for the sixth grade in order to enhance the strengths of the curriculum.
To achieve the objectives of this study, the descriptive-analytical method has been used. The search sample has consisted of 135 teachers for this subject for grade six with some of the schools in AL Batinah South. These schools have been selected by using clustered random method. A questionnaire has been designed as a tool to gather information in order to accomplish the goals of this study and answering all the questions from the results that came out by the SPSS program. It consisted of two main parties which are: the first part related to the personnal variable of the study's sample which are social gender and years of experience. The second part was about listing the competencies (skills) and the obstacles which are faced by teachers for grade six from mathematics' teachers' points of view.
The study's result showed that there are hurdles in the teaching process as teachers' points of view such as overburdening the teacher from reserve class and administrative work as well. Not only this but also the number of students in one class. Therefore, the general average of obstacles of axes of teaching was 3.97.
Also, the result showed that there were no statically significant differences at the level (0.05) between the responses of the study's sample due to gander axes in the questionnaire which are (executing lesson, assessing lesson, and teaching difficulties). While the study's result showed that there are significant differences related to statistically axes level of 0.05 due to social gander in axe of lesson planning. In the same axe of level 0.05 there are differences due to years of experience that are (executing lesson, assessing lesson and teaching problems based on teachers' points of view) for the category of elder than ten years.
The study has concluded a set of recommendations, which are: it is crucial to impart training in order to enhance the teachers' skills and how to yield the benefits from all obstacles that showed by the study's result in order to avoid them in future. Moreover, the study has recommended to reduces the weekly number of teaching periods and not pressuring them with administrative duties.
