English abstract
This study aimed at created a group counselling program which is based on the achievement motive theory, and it measured the effectiveness of this motive in enhancing the achievement motive for the workers in the IT Department in Al Sharqia North Directorate. The achievement motive is one of the major sides in the human motives system and it has been viewed as one of the vital issues to study because of its great importance in understanding many problems.
Through applying achievement motive scale , the target group has been assigned. The target group consists of 14 female workers in the IT Department in (2013-2014) in Al Sharqia North. They have been distributed randomly into two equal groups. The experiment group which took the program consists of seven workers and the control group which did not take the program also consists of seven workers. The researcher analyzed the responses of pre- and post-tests of the target group through the arithmetic and standard deviation of the results.
Then, the researcher did the Wilcoxon signed Ranks Test to check the difference in the statistics of the results. This study shows that there are some differences between the experiment group and the control group in the achievement motive by (a <0.05) after applying the program. This is a sign of the effectiveness of the group counselling program in its first stages.
As the results show in the second phase, there are some statistical differences in the average of the achievement motive for the experiment group in the pre- and post-tests by (a <0.05) which is a sign of the effectiveness of the counselling program.
