English abstract
This study aims to explore the importance of practicing transforming leadership and its relationship with strategic planning for post -basic education schools' principals from teachers' point of view. It also, explore the consequences of the three variables; sex, profession and experience.
This study is based on the descriptive methodology to collect data from the society. The study sample consisted of 142 persons (71 male teachers and 71 female teachers) distributed among different post-basic schools in South Batinah Directorate. A questionnaire was used as a basic tool for the study consisted of {. items distributed to categories which are the transforming leadership and the strategic planning. There are o points for each category. In order to process the data, the following methods were used: averages, standard deviations, (T-test) and test analysis of variance (one way ANOVA). There is a statistic relation at a significant level ( 0.05 = a ) between the transforming leadership and the strategic planning for the schools principals. The degree of practicing the transforming leadership is considerably high and so is the degree of practicing the strategic planning. There is a statistical difference at the significant level ( 0.05 = a ) between males and females regarding establishing an awareness in supporting transformation process in schools and to provide a model for transforming leadership due to the variable type for males.
There is also a statistic relation at a significant level ( 0.05 = a ) between males and females in monitoring and evaluating the strategic planning for males. There is no statistic relation at a significant level ( 0.05 = a ) between the teacher and the senior teacher in the discipline of transforming leadership. However, there is a statistic difference between the teacher and the senior teacher in wording the strategic planning. On the other hand, there is no statistic difference at a significant level between ( 0.05 = a ) between the experience variable and the study of transforming leadership and strategic planning. According to the results of the study, the researcher recommends that schools principals have to be provided with training sessions, meetings, educational conferences and symposiums in order to improve their high level of transforming leadership and strategic planning so that a better school performance is achieved. Furthermore, the researcher recommends that it is highly important to increase the principals awareness about the challenges they are facing when practicing the transforming leadership and strategic planning by conducting meeting and workshops to gain benefits from the successful experiences of some of the schools' principals. The researcher suggests that to relate the transforming leadership and strategic planning with other factors such as work environment and teachers' satisfactions.
