English abstract
The aim of this study was to examine transformational leadership among the basic education principals in Al'Dakhiliya Governorate, The Sultanate, and its relationship with the teachers' organizational commitment in.
The sample of the study consisted of 370 teachers, and The researcher used the descriptive method as a tool to measure both the transformational leadership and organizational commitment. Data statistical analysis using SPSS has revealed that the transformational leadership among the basic education principals in Al'Dakhiliya Governorate was at a high degree within the overall average (2.34). The dimensions of idealized influence and inspirational motivation were at a high level at (2.44) and (2.35) respectively. Individualized consideration and intellectual stimulation, on the other hand, scored a moderate level at (2.33) and (2.24) respectively.
The results also showed that the teachers' organizational commitment was moderate (2.28). The normative commitment scored a high level at (2.41), while the affective commitment and continuance commitment were (2.25) and (2.28) respectively. Furthermore, the study revealed no statistically significant differences attributed to the variables of gender, educational qualification and years of experience regarding transformational leadership. In terms of the organizational commitment, the study revealed no statistically significant differences that can be attributed to the variables of gender and educational qualification. However, there were statistically significant differences attributed to the years of experience, in favor of the most experienced category (more than 10 years). The results also showed positive correlation between the principals' transformational leadership and teachers' organizational commitment with an average score at (462" ).
