English abstract
The present study aimed to study the level of Self-Assertion and Achievement Motivation among the educational supervisors in Al-Dahira province. It also studied the relationship between Self-Assertion and Achievement Motivation, and the effect differences under some variables (gender & experience ). The study sample contained 119 supervisors in AL-Dahira province. The study used a descriptive approach were two investigating tools have been developed: Self-assertion Scale by shawki (1998) and the Achievement Motivation scale by khalifa (2000).
The findings of the study have shown that the overall level of Self-Assertion and Achievement Motivation of the study sample was high in general,. The axis of boldness in social interaction and rights defense in (Self-Assertion Scale ) was higher among males than females.
On the other hand, regarding Self-assertion Scale, there was no statistically significant differences at the significance level (a < 0.05) between males and females in the pivotal ability to express feelings and independence opinion between males and females. Studying levels of supervisory experience, it was found that there were no statistically significant differences at the significance level (a < 0.05) in all levels, indicating that all members of the study sample, at all levels of expertise in teaching close together in Self-Assertion. Taking into account the level of Achievement Motivation, both males and females showed equal motivation towards achievement level.
With respect to the level of supervisory experience in the level of Achievement Motivation, there was no statistical differences in the sense of responsibility and perseverance, ambition and time management, however the field of competition has found statistically significant differences at( a < 0.05) for supervisors having(1-5) years of experience.
From the study findings, it is clear that there is a proportional positive correlation between the level of Self-Assertion and the level of Achievement Motivation. From this result it can be understood that the selection of suitable individuals with high Self-Assertion for jobs, who will have a positive impact on their job performance.
