English abstract
This study aims to investigate Omani female schoolteachers' utilization and attitudes towards Open Educational Resources (OER). To achieve its objectives, the study used a descriptive analytical design of mixed methods approach. The research tools, a semi structured interview and attitude scale, were validated and used to collect the required data to answer the research questions. The sample of the study consisted of twenty female Cycle One (grades 1- 4) school teachers teaching different subjects in the Muscat Governorate. The main findings of the study indicated that teachers used OER for specific purposes such as attracting the students' attention, explaining abstract concepts, evaluating students' understanding and controlling students' behavior. It was found that though all participants have positive attitudes towards OER but half of them did not utilize these resources due to time-constraints and busy teaching schedules. The research recommends conducting further research studies in OER with other educational variables for different learning stages.
