This study aimed to investigate the self and the other in the (Memories of an Arabian Princess) book, the Omani Princess Salma bint Said bin Sultan. This book was written and published in the 19th Century. It is considered to be a sample of literature that triggered the phenomenon of influence and effect of the Arabian east and European west through answering the following questions: - What is the literary and historical value of the book? -Which literature type does it belong to? -How did the author express the self in her book? - What is the relationship between the self and the other in the book? To answer these questions, I had introduced the author of the book and the type of literature this book belonged to. The way of expressing the self in this book was followed through the clarification of the picture of the self and the route of her presence, on the other side how she expressed the other, the picture of it presence, its route, and the relationship between the self and the other in the book. The results of this study showed the following: -This book is belonged to An Autobiography type, it has the conditions of An Autobiography and its charter is included. -The broken self was obvious in the book because it tells real personal events the author went through. -The self was shown in two single pictures, which was divided into the old and the new self. In addition, the plural self, which ended to the east and the other to the west. -It was honored with the feeling of being distinguished, unique, rebellion, the ability of confronting and the determination to achieve the aims. - The other was shown differently; it is the east sometimes and the west the other times. -The influential European presence existed and affected the text. - The author depended on approaching and comparison to reflect the other. - The other was shown in the text with two different contrasting; positive and negative. -The relationship between the self and the other in the text was based on conversation, harmony sometimes, and refusal criticism other times.
