Cybercrimes Have Witnessed Significant Developments in Recent Years Due to the Growing Reliance on Technology and Digital Space in Various Aspects of Life Despite the numerous benefits offered by the internet and its unique advantages compared to other means of communication, its usage entails many risks and harms, including social isolation, health damages, and dangers related to cybercrimes, such as ethical violations on the internet. In light of this, international efforts must be unified, and genuine global cooperation must be enhanced to effectively confront organized criminal activ ities carried out through the dark web. This requires organizing international workshops to exchange expertise in combating cybercrimes, addressing the new technological methods employed by internet exploiters in unlawful activities. The study delves into the definition of cybercrimes and the characteristics that distinguish them from traditional crimes. It then examines the primary types of these crimes, such as crimes related to the economy, crimes against individuals, and crimes associated with terrorism, highlighting the national and international legislation governing these offenses. Furthermore, the research explores contemporary challenges in combating cybercrimes, such as the difficulty of tracking perpetrators, weak international cooperation, and the rapid evolution of cybercriminal methods that surpass the capacity of laws to keep pace. The study concludes by offering recommendations to strengthen the legal and institutional framework for combating cybercrimes, emphasizing the importance of international collaboration and the continuous development of legislation to align with rapid technological advancements.
