English abstract
This study, entitled "Transtextuality in the Storiette of Aziza Al-Tai",
examines the poetic dimensions of the Storiette, based on the approach
of Gérard Genette in theorizing the poeticity of the literary text, which is
represented in the Transtextuality that includes five types of relationships,
which are: intertextuality, paratextuality, metatextuality, architextuality and
hypertextuality. The study aims to apply those relationships in order to
discover the extent of its presence in the Storiette of Aziza Al-Tai, and
her role in promoting the poeticity of those stories.
The study consists of an introduction, a preface, and four chapters.
The introduction deals with the importance of the topic, its goal, and the
reasons for choosing it. The preface discusses the terminology of the
study, especially the terminology of "Transtextuality" of Gérard Genette,
and their translations in Arabic studies to detrmine the translations that
the research will adopt. Chapter I examines the intertextuality of the study
in the light of the concept of Gérard Genette, in three sections: Literary
thefts between Gérard Genette and Arab critics, Quotation and Allusion.
Chapter II examines the Paratextualities through three sections:
Publisher's Peritext, Authorial Peritext and Public Epitext. Chapter III
studies Architextuality. Chapter IV deals with the Hypertextuality through
Travest Burlesque and Parody.
