The study aims to investigate the effectiveness of teaching using the Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs) on the ability to solve mathematical problems and self-efficacy among female students in eighth grade. A quasiexperimental research design was used. The sample of the study consisted of 52 female students in eighth grade from Sharqiyah South governorate schools. The sample was divided into two groups: an experimental group consisted of 26 female students who were taught according to the Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs) and a control group consisted of 26 female students who were taught in the usual way. To achieve the objectives of the study, the teaching and learning materials were prepared according to Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs). The study instruments aimed to measuring the students ability to solve mathematical problems test that consisting of 6 essay questions, self-efficacy in solving mathematical problems scale that consisting of 27 items. The validity and reliability of these instruments were verifying by appropriate methods. The results showed statistically significant differences at (α=.05) in both ability to solve mathematical problems, self-efficacy in solving mathematical د problems scale due to the teaching method, in favor of the experimental group who were taught according to the Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs). In light of these results, the study suggested several recommendations. Such as, was to benefit from the educational model based on (MEAs),which was presented by the study and work to include it in the content school mathematics books and train teachers on it. The study also, suggested conducting same further studies to investigate the effectiveness of (MEAs) with other variables ,different grades and variant Mathematics topics.
