The impact of educational portal on improving MOE's employees' performance in Sultanate of Oman.

A study to investigate the impact of technology on education sectors' stakeholders' performance is essential, particularly with the recent growth of technology and usage. Earlier research efforts concentrated on the identification of factors that facilitated the use of technology. It is obvious that, for practical reasons, the factors need to be identified in such a way as to analyze the requirements of advancement of technologies. The educational portal provided by Ministry of Education in Sultanate of Oman the main gateway to provide various type of educational related services online to the users apart from the opportunity for improved performance to the employees. This research is focused on the factors of the educational portal services that facilitate the work of the employees and improve the performance and the challenges that can reduce the performance of employees. The research used quantitative and qualitative methodology using questionnaire and interviews to collect the data. Based on the result of data analysis, it is found that the employees' performance increased after the introduction of educational portal services than the employees' performance under the previous manual system. Therefore, it is concluded that the technology has impact on the employees' performance, and usage of technology helped to enhance the employees' performance and provide job satisfaction. The system should be reviewed on periodic basis and enhanced to accommodate the new requirements and services.
