English abstract
Herein, different known metal organic frameworks (MOFs) were examined as sorbent
materials for solid phase extraction (SPE) of clarithromycin (CLA) from aqueous solution. The
MOFs that were used zinc (II)-MOF with terephthalic acid, trimesic acid and biphenyl-4,4-
dicarboxylic acid, as well as Al-terephthalate MOF. The preliminary experiments showed than
none of these MOFs can interact with CLA, except Zinc (II)-2-amino- terephthalate (IRMOF-3).
The adsorption efficiency of CLA via IRMOF-3 was found to be 73.9%. Interestingly, when
composing this MOF with graphene oxide (GO) the adsorption efficiency was enhanced further
to 79.8%. The CLA was determined by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with
UV detection at 266 nm. The analyte was run on C18 column maintained at 25 ℃, eluted using
an isocratic mobile phase comprised of (A, 40%) methanol and deionized water (60%: 40%) and
mobile phase (B, 60%) which was an aqueous acetic acid (AA, 0.1%, v/v) at a flow rate of 0.1
mL.min-l
. The calibration curve of CLA was linear (R
2=0.9963) over the concentration range of 0.01- 5 mg.L-1. The limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) were 0.57 and 1.7 μg.L-1respectively. However, the extraction recovery from IRMOF-3@GO was only 14%
when elution solvent was 60% [MeOH (60%): H2O (40%)]:40% [H2O-pH6] and the pH of
analyte was 7.
