Sultanate of Oman has joined the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC). Consequently, Oman is internationally committed to fight corruption. The agreement includes a number of measures and provisions to be taken by parties to combat corruption. Therefore, this research aims to study the provisions of the UNCAC, the compatibility of the internal legislative texts in the Sultanate with the terms of the agreement, and to what extent does Oman apply the provisions of international cooperation stipulated in the agreement. The research also aims to study the concerned authorities to fight corruption in the Sultanate, and to what extent does Oman need to establish an independent authority concerned with fighting corruption in the presence of bodies that are doing the task. The introductory chapter of the research identifies the concept of corruption and the international efforts to combat it. The first chapter discusses provisions of the UNCAC. The second chapter discusses Oman's obligations under the UNCAC. The research concludes with a number of outcomes and recommendations.
