This research aimed to detect the impact of designing a training program based on educational multimedia computer to develop the skills of self-learning students have a tenth grade of basic education in the Sultanate of Oman for the use of learning resource centers, and was formulating the following question:
• What impact the design of a training program based on educational multimedia computer to develop the skills of self-learning students have to use the learning resource centers and their directions like? To answer the main question has been resolved to the previous
sub-questions following:
1) What are self-learning skills required for the tenth grade students of basic education in the use of learning resource centers?
2) What design standards- computer based training program of educational multimedia for the development of these skills?
3) What training program based on educational multimedia computer? How can design?
Using a model of instructional design (Abdul Latif Al-Gazar, 2002) until it is valid to the
research experience.
4) What's the size of effect, Effctiveness, and mastery of the application of this program to develop self-learning skills to use the learning resource centers?
5) What's the size of effect, Effectiveness and mastery of the application of this program on the development Attitudes of the students towards learning resource centers?
6) Whats the size of effect, effectiveness and mastery of the application of this Program on the development of the female Students Cognitive achievement of using learning resource centers ?
7) Whats the size of effect, effectiveness and mastery of the application of this Program on the development of female Students self-evaluation of the acquisition of the self learning skills of using learning resource centers ? The researcher used the Developmental Research Method, It consists of the following research methods:
• Descriptive method : at the stage of the study, analysis and design phase, where the characterization of the tenth grade students of basic education and their educational needs to develop the skills to use learning resource centers and educational objectives and educational content.
Systematrc Development method: where application design model ( ISD ) In the design of the training program on the computer-based educational multimedia.
• Experimental method: When the search experience on the set of this research to measure the effectiveness of the training program based on multimedia of Computer education for the development of self-learning skills in the use of learning resource centers. A list of self-learning skills was derived as it is necessary for students tenth grade basic education, and derive a list of criteria for instructional design of the training program, and the development of the training program in the light of those standards to achieve the acquisition of those skills using ISD Model of Abdellatif Elgazzar (2002), has been vacationing in the light of those standards, was prepared research tools, which included: achievement test for the part of cognitive skills, and the identification of the self-assessment to acquire those skills, and note card side, performance skills, and a questionnaire to measure the attitudes of students towards the use of learning resource centers, and was sure of sincerity and persistence, as has been the formulation of a number (16) presumably research to be tested. Then the researcher followed the clustering technique in the selection of the research sample, where the choice of Al-Zahra governorate intentionally, School of Sawda Om AL-Mo'menin for basic education (12-5) in Al-Zahra governorate , where there are (3) branches in the tenth grade, has been selected one of these It is people randomly Division (3), which consists of (28) to be a student research sample, the training program was applied on the sample in the academic year 2012/2013 AD, data was collected and analyzed using search software package Statistical Social Sciences (SPSS ) To test the validity of hypotheses using appropriate statistical methods.
The results of the research for the existence of the effect of the training program on the development of the collection side of cognitive skills, self-learning, and the presence of the impact on the development side, performance of those skills, and the presence of the impact of the program on the development of self-assessment for students to gain those skills, also found the impact of the training program on the development trends of the students towards the use of learning resource centers, also found the effectiveness of the program is greater than (85%) and the large size of the effect on these variables. In light of the results of research and variables that have been studied researcher presented a number of recommendations and suggested the researcher to prepare research suggested reasons for the reluctance of students on the use of self-learning of learning resource centers and its relation to the role of teachers in encouraging them and the work of educational activities based on the use of learning resource centers, and a study of the
impact of the use of the program which has been developed in this research to be distance-learning and e-learning web-based way learning environment participatory, and conduct a evolutionary research for the development of competencies specialist learning resources to develop the skills of self-learning for students and study its impact on the students in the use of learning resource centers, and conduct a search to uncover the effect of the interaction methods with two types of students have to design an environment for learning (self / collaborative) to develop the skills of the use of learning resource centers.
