This study aimed to reveal the degree of availability of the competencies of information and communication technology with social studies teachers in the post the basic education in Sultanate of Oman. In addition, the study attempts to examine the effect of a set of variables including specialization, gender and teaching experience. To achieve objectives of study the researcher used the descriptive methodology where the researcher prepared a questionnaire consisting of (37) items, which is divided into three components basic skills to run the computer; competencies of using sources World Wide Web (Internet); and competencies of employing information technology and communication in the teaching and evaluation of social studies. After checking the validity and reliability of the instrument, it was applied to the study sample consisting of (236) social studies teachers (males and females) from govermentes: Muscat, Batinah North, and Sharqia South. The result of the study showed that degree of availability of the competencies of information and communication technology with social studies teachers reached (3.17) which mean moderate. In addition, the data revealed no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05-a) in the degree of availability of the competencies of information and communication technology with social studies teachers can be attributed to variables of gender and specialization. The result also indicated no statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05=a) in the degree of availability of the competencies of information and communication technology with social studies teachers can be attributed to variable of teaching experience in all components with exception of" basic skills run the computer which has a statistical significance in favor of teachers who have teaching experience extends from one to ten years.
